Monument Dedicated to Reg.#23499, Cst. Reg Williams

Hello Joe !
While serving at Sooke Det. in 2006, I learned that in 1964 a young Cst. Reg Williams was killed tragically on duty in a PC MVA (Police Car Motor Vehicle Accident). He drowned to death. There was absolutely nothing in or around the office honouring his great sacrifice.

With the help of community labourers and contractors and with donated materials, I had a large, marble monument erected on the grounds of Sooke Detachment, built in his name.

Although he is buried in Manitoba, he is remembered everyday at Sooke Detachment on the rainy westcoast of Vancouver Island.

I'll try and get you a photo of our Momument to Cst. Williams soon.

Yours truly,

'Maintain Our Memories'
