Part Four: In Memory of Reg.#19731, Cst. Colin Lelliott

Update to file: by Victoria Vet. James B. Forsyth: [mpvets@rcmpvets.net]

Hi Greg,[Greg.DEAGLE@rcmp-grc.gc.ca]

Vet Jack White asked me to contact Hatley Memorial Gardens where Lelliott was buried to see if their records would show anything. I did contact them and spoke to a 'Judy'. She advised that the only information on file is that of the parents who lived at 3031 Pickford Rd., Victoria, BC.

I did a reverse search and got the phone number of that address and called them. A Dan Watson and Cynthia live there now. They explain that about 2 years ago they did some major renovations on the house and within a wall they found an envelope and in it were papers and drawings apparently done by Lelliott when he was attending Brentwood Elementary School (no longer in existence now). They tried to find relatives but only found on the web the item of Lelliot being killed.

They put the envelope back in the house. Dan thinks he can find it again if given a bit of time. From it he believes there were three children living there. So Lelliott may have two siblings. If we locate any relatives he would like to get the envelope to them.

As you likely know Bob Milmine retired in 1974 when he was i/c Cranbrook Det. He died in 1992 and is buried in Vancouver. I have tried to track down Mrs. Milmine. I don't know yet if they had any children or not. I have spoken to members who worked with him In Nanaimo in the early 60's but haven't got any positive leads on Mrs. Milmine yet.

All I have for now. May get some more from Dan Watson in a few days.

Cheers,

Jim
