Obituary: Reg.#768, James Arthur Simons
The Calgary Herald. January 15, 1893

Mr. J.A. Simons an ex-member of the NWMP died at his residence, Atlantic Ave. yesterday morning of typhoid fever. Mr. Simons illness was not of long duration.

The deceased came to this country from England in 1882 and joined the NWMP Force. At the expiration of his term of service he went home to the old country on a visit. returning to Calgary he again took on with the force, but purchased his discharge some time after.

A widow and a small boy survive. At the time of his death Mr. Simons owned considerable property in Calgary.
