'Friends Not Forgotten'

  The Memorial Service for Constable Derek Pineo will be held Wednesday, July 25th at 2:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Centre in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. The Evergreen Centre is located at 300 Evergreen Drive, Nipawin.

The muster point for members and representatives from other police services and emergency services personnel will be at the Centennial Arena - 350 - 2nd Ave. East, Nipawin, Sask. Parade participants will be able to change at this location and showers are available for those interested. Members and other parade participants are asked to assemble at the Centennial Arena by 12:30 p.m.

The parade will march from the Centennial Arena to the Evergreen Centre - a distance of eight blocks. Members are to wear Review Order with stripped Sam Brown. Officers are to wear cloth caps.  For those members needing accommodation, rooms have been blocked at the following locations in Nipawin:

Green Groves Motel - 862-4633

Other options in close proximity to Nipawin are as follows:

Tisdale - Canalta Hotel 873-5077. Tisdale is approx 53 km south of Nipawin.

Cst. Pineo joined the RCMP on August 20, 2007 and was originally from Nova Scotia. Another memorial/interment service for Cst. Pineo will be held Sunday, July 29th at 2:00 pm at the Anglican Church in Fall River, Nova Scotia.
