Thanks for your note...not alot is known about Evans. According to research done by Vet. Jack White, Cst. John Evans joined the Force on November 16, 1912. He was posted to 'F' Div and 'Depot'.

He appeared in Service Court on April 29, 1913 for being Absent from duty. He was fined $2.00 by Supt. McGibbon at Battleford. He purchased his discharge on April 4, 1914. Then his trail goes cold! Maybe he went to war?

Sounds like a good history project to help me out, eh?

Hi Joe,


Yes, I got his service dates from Ottawa, but did not know about the Service Court matter. I am thinking he joined the war as well, as that was common then, although a search of Attestation Papers on-line has yielded negative results (searching by joining date and comparing signatures...tedious process).

Can our readers help me out? I am running out of ideas and the time to do the research....any help would be appreciated.
