Reg.#33472, Cst. Normand Mallet, 'J' Div.

Dear Joe,
I made some calls and discovered the name of the member buried in Shippagan, NB.  He is Cst. Normand Mallet who died on the January 4th, 1978 due to a car accident.

Cst. Mallet was accompanied by his girlfriend in their private car. They were struck by a train in Bathurst, NB. Normand was 22 yrs old and he is buried beside his girlfriend.

The plot location is Row 6,  Tomb 3. The tombstone has reference to the RCMP. It says Cst. Normand Mallet and at the bottom of the tombstone it says "Membre de la Gendarmerie Royale du Canada"

Thank you and I hope this helps,
Claude Dery, New Brunswick

  1. Hi Claude,
Thanks for your info on Cst. Mallet and it has been added into the databank.

Our website was recently featured in an RCMP publication entitled: Frontline Perspective. If you're able, try to fetch a copy from your nearby Detachment.

As well, Vet. Danny MacNeill in Fredericton is your 'J' Div. Graves Location Coordinator and he may be reached through 'J' Div. Headquarters.

Thanks again for all your help.
    Yours truly,
    Joe

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your note. Please be assured that I will reply, but some e-mails require a little more research and time or reflection. If your comment hinges on policy for graves, the e-mail may have to be referred to the RCMP for an authoritative response.

*You may check this blog for your e-mail as well as my reply.
