Lawrence William Herchmer was the fifth Commissioner of the Force. As
Commissioner, he served from April 1, 1886 to July 31, 1900. He died on February 17, 1915.
Commissioner Herchmer's grave is located in a very shaded site in Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver, BC. His monument of stone is well protected by a hugh over handing tree.
His inscription is on the 'lee' side (the side away from the wind), but the stone itself and the notation have become very stained and difficult to read.
His wife's name is inscribed on another side of the Commissioner's monument and on another side are names possibly those belonging to their children.
