'Friends Not Forgotten'
Rodney F. Lazenby of High River, AB, formerly of Edmonton, AB and Chilliwack, BC passed away on August 10, 2012 at the age of 62 years. He loved sports and travelling. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Rod is survived by his loving family; wife, Lolita; children, David, Grady (Christa) and Meghan (Joe); grandchildren, Wyatt, Joseph, Eleanor and Roy; mother, Dorothy; two sisters and one brother, Charlene (Mark) Orr, Robyn (Rick) Halbert and Bryan (Michelle) Lazenby; step-son, Rodrigo Rocheleau; step-daughter, Lolina (Robert) Koopman and their families; also numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Predeceased by his father, Frank Lazenby. Rod met life with a sense of humor and great courage. A 35 year veteran with the RCMP. He joined the Force in 1976-01-20 and served in 'E' Div. until his retirement in 2006.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton, AB. Internment to follow in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Sherwood Park, AB.
A Public Memorial Service for Rod will also be held on Friday, August 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Highwood Memorial Centre, 128 - 5 Avenue W, High River, AB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT & Nunavut, 10985 - 124 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 0H9 or the Cross Cancer Institute, Alberta Cancer Foundation, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2.
