In Memory of Reg.#363, Staff Sergeant F. R. Morris

Staff Sergeant Frederick Ramsey 'Baldy' Morris

'Friends Not Forgotten'

No one is sure of S/Sgt. Baldy Morris' birth date but he joined the Force in June, 1879. He served five years in the North West Mounted Police (NWMP) and left in 1884. He was posted to 'F' Div. (Saskatchewan) and 'K' Div. (Alberta).

For his good service to Canada, S/Sgt. Morris was granted a Land Warrant thus allowing him to farm and history leaves us with the impression that he later joined the Alberta Provincial Police. It seems that in those days too, police work did not drain easily from one's blood circulation.

S/Sgt. F. R. 'Baldy' Morris (R'td) died in 1914. He is buried in the Old General Anglican Cemetery, in Cranbrook, BC.
