Obituary

It is with great sadness and an immense sense of loss that we announce the sudden passing of Herb. Herb was an RCMP member for 25 years until his retirement, which he spent working with Parkland Nurseries in their landscaping department. He loved both of his careers, and the people he worked with.

Herb served as a board member for the Red Deer food bank for many years, and enjoyed so much being a Rebels season ticket holder, and making every game to support his team. If he wasn't at a Rebels game, or listening to one, you can probably bet there was an Oilers game on!

Herb loved having his family around, a gathering at home with his wife, the girls and grandkids was always enjoyed. Fishing trips with his friends and grandsons, time spent in their gorgeous garden with Sylvia, Herb enjoyed all his days to the fullest. He is going to be greatly missed.

Herb is lovingly remembered by Sylvia, his wife of 42 years, daughters Jennifer ( Ryan, Tyler and Jared ) and Sarah ( Kevin, Calleigh and Lauren ) Parents Richard and Trudy, brother John ( Carol ) and all of his friends and co-workers who were so important to him.

The family will be holding a private memorial at a later date. Arrangements in care of Joelle Valliere, Funeral Director at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.  Herb was a member of the Force from 1978-03-28 serving in “K” Div. until  his retirement on 2003-09-25.
