 In Memory of Reg.#3264, Corporal W. C. Shuckburgh

'Friends Not Forgotten' 

Corporal William Cole Shuckburgh was born around 1875 and he joined the North West Mounted Police (NWMP) on April 18, 1898 and was posted to 'F' Division (Saskatchewan). 

Shortly afterwards, he and his brother, Reg.#2985, James Shuckburgh left Canada for South Africa with the Lord Strathcona Horse.

William Cole Shuckburgh returned to Canada and served in the Royal North West Mounted Police in Saskatchewan and Whitehorse. He left the Force in April 1906.

Corporal Shuckburgh died in Stettler, Alberta in 1953. His ashes were spread over his homestead.

William's brother, James Shuckburgh was wounded in South Africa. He died of his wounds and he is buried in South Africa.
