Reg.# 45194, Constable Jimmy Ng

Honour Roll #201
Hi Joe,
Thank you for the excellent website you have created.

I have just recently found it and while researching names I found Jimmy Ng's name in the
database. I noticed the database indicates Jimmy is buried at 'Depot'?

Jimmy was on my watch in Duncan, B.C. and while his funeral was held in Richmond, BC his
ashes were buried in the Ng family plot on Saltspring Island, B.C.

His parents along with the members from his watch in Duncan Det. and Richmond Det. were
present at the burial and after the graveside service we all placed handfulls of dried
flowers from the memorial at Richmond Detachment, in his grave. It was a very moving service.

Thank you for allowing my imput.

Vet. Blair Martens,

Dear Blair;

We now know that Cst. NG was cremated. His remains were first buried in the Ganges Cemetery, Salt Spring Island, however, cemetery records show his remains were transferred to the RCMP 'Depot' Cemetery in Regina, SK in August, 2007

  1. I'm currently posted at Depot as an instructor and have met Jimmy's parents several times when they attend the RCMP Memorial Parade in September. While they were there they went to see Jimmy's Grave and informed me of their decision to move his remains to Depot. They are dentists and often travel to third world countries to do Dental Work. They told me their decision to move Jimmy's ashes was becuase The small aircraft they often travel in are questionable in terms of safety. If something were to happen to them, they wanted to know that Jimmy's grave would be looked after. By moving him to Depot he will always be taken care of and would be among his peers and in a place that he had fond memories of.

  2. Sadly...NG, Dr. Chris (Sen Chee)November 12, 1941 - May 24, 2016 Dr. Ng passed away on Salt Spring Island - a place that both he and Therese loved so well. He was predeceased by his dear wife Therese in 2013 and his son RCMP Const. Jimmy Ng in 2002. Dr. Ng and Therese ran their dental practice in Richmond for 40 years before retiring to Salt Spring Island. Chris and Therese dealt heroically with the tragic loss of their son. Chris and Therese were involved in many missionary endeavors including dentistry volunteer work in China, Asia and Africa over the years. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on July 23, 2016 at Our Lady Of Grace Church, 135 Drake Road on Salt Spring Island. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lady Minto Hospital Foundation, Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Church or another charity of your choice. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/vancouversun/obituary.aspx?pid=180719628#sthash.NQjD1Jo9.dpuf
