Part Five: In Memory of Reg.#19731, Cst. Colin Lelliott

File update: Part Five: by: Reg.#51083, Cst. G.L. (Greg) Deagle

Hi folks!

Thank-you so much for your hard and diligent work on our request so quickly. Clearly retirement has not affected your investigative skills in any way!

We had knowledge of a Cynthia LELLIOTT already but had no idea of how to find her as all our attempts from up here had reached dead ends. We had the same results from Mary MILMINE. Dom FRENCH advised he thought she may have re-married.

Joe: Thanks for drawing in all your contacts. The snowball is definitely gathering momentum!

Sophie: I think I have asked this before but do you have access to any records for LELLIOTT or MILMINE?

Dan: Thanks for tracking down the LELLIOTT family home. Please let me know if you are able to establish further contacts through that avenue. So the family that lives in the house now is no relation to the LELLIOTTs? Thanks also for tracking down Colin's Troopmates. I would have had no way of doing that! Since he was relatively junior in service (like so many of us up here) perhaps he was still in touch with some of his troopmates before his death.

Jim: I see you contacted Jim WATSON who now lives in the Victoria home of the Lelliotts. I don't suppose the Cynthia to whom he is married is the same Cynthia LELLIOTT?

S/Sgt. WRIGHT: FYI... I contacted "Buffalo Joe" from the RCMP Graves program and he was kind enough to mention our little project to his contacts. The flood of assistance since then (Sunday night!) has been nothing short of amazing.

Again folks, thanks for your hard work. We here in Cambridge Bay feel a deep connection to fallen members as Chris WORDEN (Hay River, NWT) and Doug SCOTT (Kimmirut, NU) were both killed in the fall of 2007 when most of us here now were either already here or well into the planning stages of transferring here. We feel the connection between the Inuit and the RCMP is so strong and the two groups have depended on one another for so long, we would be remiss if we did not take this opportunity to recognize the occasion and build on the relationships.

Keep the Faith!
