Obituary: George Hum Thomas
Obituary
George Hum Thomas, 90, of 61 Courtney Road, Dartmouth, died Tuesday, in Palmeter's Nursing Home, Kentville. He was born in China. A cook for the past 70 years, he was the owner of Tom's Lunch in Halifax for several years. He later owned Bill's Lunch in Westphal.
He was a member of the Hum Society of Halifax and a former member of the RCMP. He taught school in China in his earlier years. Besides his wife, the former Margaret Sampson, Halifax; he is survived by seven sons; William D., Edward J., Stanley R., George H., Steven M., Gordon L., Paul R. and four daughters, Margaret D., Georgine A., Gloria M., June W., all of Dartmouth.
The body is at the Dartmouth Funeral Home where funeral mass will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. John DeLouchry will officiate. Burial will be in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
